If Liverpool's Champions League win confirmed
only one thing, it's something that we already know.
Liverpool have the most irritating fans from any club
in any sport in the world and they've proved it once again.
There are some very important aspects about Liverpool's
win that must be mentioned by me as you won't hear it
from the mainstream media. This is the only place that
you'll be able to read the truth about what really
happened on that ill-fated night.
Style of play
A special congratulations needs to go out to Mauricio Pochettino and his Spurs team for they were the only team and manager on the night that actually wanted to play football.
Liverpool came to the game, got an early penalty and parked the bus thereafter. I haven't heard one word from a Liverpool fan about how they won the game playing the worst football in the worst champions league final in living memory. The same fans that gloat about Geggenpress and fancy football are now comfortable with the parking the bus and playing defensive football to win. Perhaps we should have seen the signs more than 12 months ago when Klopp admitted that he would park the bus to win when asked the question in a press conference just before their game against Manchester United:
"I would never use that (phrase) in this specific game. I have absolutely no problem with defending.
"I know how the situation is at the moment, what people are saying - they play a specific kind of football, we play a specific kind of football, and everybody makes a big thing of it. But it's all about winning, and there are different ways to win football games.

"It has been a big rivalry for ages but in the last few years obviously Manchester United were more successful than us, that is the truth. We respect that."
Klopp added: "This United team have a specific way of playing football. That is all. And if we have to defend there, we have to defend there with all we have, and not gambling and thinking 'we are flying'. Nobody flies. They are too strong.
"It's not a battle of systems or philosophies, it's two very good teams who will face each other. And when United will attack, I hope all my players are involved in defending to be honest, and if somebody says then 'that was parking the bus' in that moment, then we park the bus. I have no problem with that.

Since then Liverpool have embarked on a campaign of playing defensive football and their fans have mopped it up.
As I've indicated in my last blog 'Why everyone hates Liverpool fans,' there is nothing special about this Liverpool team. They are very similar to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea 2004 team, they are a defensive team, not an attacking powerhouse that their fans make them out to be. If Jose Mourinho says that their Champions League final was bad then it must have been very bad:
"I think the three midfield Liverpool players, if we are going to see the wave of their positioning, they played on a straight line in front of a back four.
"You don't remember Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Milner being close to the three attacking players, to have one arrive in the box, nothing. They stayed in a block of seven, they were very pragmatic, very solid defensively.
"I think also that if this match is not the Champions League final, if it is a Premier League match, or the final of the League Cup, we would all say the game was not good.
"Because it is a Champions League final, it has this emotional side of it, but I think the quality of the game was not good, and Tottenham have to be frustrated, because they lost and they feel that they are better than this."
Arsene Wenger, who sat beside Mourinho in the Bein studio said this:
"At the end of the day the game was decided by two set pieces.
"I personally believe it was a very, very average Liverpool, and that there was more in this game for Tottenham. They lacked a bit of killer instinct, and I felt it was more linked with the psychological side than the real quality.
"I felt like they believed but without really 100 per cent believing, Tottenham tonight."
Pragmatic, very average, decided by set pieces. You can travel far and wide around the globe but you won't hear this from Liverpool supporters. This is a manager that has lost so many finals that he has sacrificed his entire philosophy to put a trophy in the cabinet. Where are the Liverpool supporters that claimed that they rather watch their team lose and play attacking football than to win playing bad football?
Liverpool won this game in theory, but, the big winners on the night are Jose Mourinho and Big Sam Allardyce for they are the champions of pragmatic, defensive, park the bus football and Jurgen Klopp has proved that he cant win in England or in the Champions League by playing attacking football, he had to win by taking a leaf out of Jose and Big Sam's book. We applaud you Jose and Big Sam for the stats even back you up:
- Liverpool (35.4 per cent) have become the first side to win the Champions League final despite having less possession than the opposition since Mourinho's Inter Milan beat Bayern Munich in 2010, also in Madrid.
- Liverpool had the third-lowest passing accuracy of any team in any game in the Champions League this season at 64.34 per cent
- Liverpool completed only 101 passes in the first half of the game - fewer than in any of their other games this season
- Liverpool had just three shots on target in a largely turgid affair in Madrid.
As I pointed out in my last blog. Klopp and Liverpool always get a free ride from the media. Nobody has mentioned anything negative about Liverpool's style of play which would have been a media spectacle had it been done by any other team or manager.
After Liverpool's style of play this season and in the Champions League final, Jurgen Klopp surely is the German Tony Pulis.
The Comeback
Liverpool's self proclaimed 'Greatest Ever Comeback' where they won the second leg against Barcelona after losing the first leg 0-3 in Camp Nou has to be one of the biggest jokes we've ever heard.
I am not biased and I will give them their due. It was a good comeback, but, to call it the greatest ever comeback is a joke considering that it wasn't even the best comeback this season!
When you rank comebacks this season it would be in this order:
1) PSG 1-3 Man United
2) Ajax 2-3 Spurs
3) Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona
Liverpool's claim to the greatest comeback is laughable considering that this is probably the worst Barcelona team we've seen in almost 2 decades while both United and Spurs comebacks were away from home and against far superior teams than this current Barcelona side.
If you read that Liverpool's Champions league comeback is the greatest ever and you laugh out loud or wet yourself laughing then it's totally understandable.
The Congratulations
I've read many messages about how Liverpool fans haven't had any congratulations from United fans and fans of other clubs. It just goes to show how desperate their fans are for praise and attention. They are a club that has won their 2nd trophy in 13 years so you can't blame them as they're not used to winning. In many ways they're more sad about not receiving praise from other fans than they are happy about winning. As one of my good friends pointed out, where were Liverpool fans congratulating United fans when they were winning for 20+ years? Did we even care about receiving their congratulations? No, we didn't, because we were too busy enjoying the victories.
Spurs Fans Praise
There's been a lot sound coming from Liverpool supporters about how 'nice' their supporters were on the night and what a pleasure they were to be around with tweets and retweets from Spurs fans praising Liverpool fans. It's very easy to be 'nice' when you win. Lots of Liverpool supporters all around the world have been talking about this on various social media platforms. It's funny that nobody mentioned anything about the trouble these 'nice' fans caused when Spanish police swooped on Barcelona’s Placa Reial after trouble involving Liverpool fans ahead of their match with Barcelona at Camp Nou.
Videos of ugly scenes in the famous tourist spot went viral on social media, including one fan pushing people into the square’s fountain.
The square was also seen covered in empty beer cans and plastic bags, with fans buying beer from street sellers as they enjoyed the sunshine.
One elderly Asian man was filmed being pushed off the edge of the fountain into the water, which is only a few inches deep. Another Liverpool fan then calls the man “Mr Miyagi”.
A Liverpool fan pushing an Asian man into the water fountain at Placa Reial. Another fan calls the man "Mr. Miyagi"
Other fans are filmed laughing at the man as he walks away drenched, checking if his mobile phone still works.
In another video, a Liverpool fan can be seen rugby tackling a man selling beers, who also appears to be Asian, into the fountain. Other fans are again seen cheering and laughing, with Merseyside police said to be probing the incidents, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Placa Reial was later entirely cordoned off, with riot vans descending on the square. Police marched Liverpool fans up La Rambla, the city’s main tourist street, with fans heard singing club chants.
According to Spanish daily sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, police also arrested six Liverpool fans for abusing nearby hotel workers, with some of the employees requiring medical attention.
There were also reports of other Liverpool fans throwing beer cans at police, who had tried to confiscate the items from supporters.
It's amazing that all Liverpool fans did a Houdini when these incidents happened but are very quick to praise their 'nice' fans. As I pointed out in my previous blog, some consistency would be great.
The Parade
This is something that has become an obsession for Liverpool fans. They keep comparing their parade to Man City's, talking about how many people attended and how big it was. How can you compare yourself to a team whose main success has only come in the past decade and naturally would have a smaller fan base than yours? Also, what does it even matter if more people attended your open bus parade than Man City's?
Liverpool had more people at their open bus parade but when you compare Man City to Liverpool this season, Man City beat Liverpool where it counted and took home the Premier League title. My advice to Liverpool fans is that it's not important how many people attend your open bus parade, the real contest is on the football pitch and despite you playing defensive, pragmatic football this season, Man City outclassed you with their brand of attacking football. If you ever want to make fun of Man City do it when you beat them to the Premier League title.
Conclusion

If you want to know why Liverpool are so hated, see the video of 'The German Pulis' singing 'let's talk about six' in his post match interview and when he was counting on his fingers to 6 on the open bus. If my manager did something like that I would be cringing. It's embarrassing to the Football Club and is proof enough that everyone hates Liverpool and its fans.
This Liverpool team are obsessed with people praising them and the number of people that attended their open bus parade and it's little wonder that they are like this when they have only won 2 trophies in the past 13 years. You can see when a teams fans of serial losers taste success and have no grace when they win. You can see that their focus is on the small things that don't even matter.
Liverpool have a long history with lots of trophies and it's a pity that they don't have the fans to go with it.

Spurs were better but besides a better game plan they had to commit players forward as they were the team chasing.
ReplyDeleteBoth teams were very nervous. Probably due to Spurs being there for the first time and Liverpool losing last years final. You could see but the high amount of misplaced passes or possession turnovers
The Liverpool middle 3 stayed in front of the back 4 to cut off vertical passes aimed at Son
If you go through the match , they barely created anything.
Looking back at Klopps history in finals, even tho most of the time he had an inferior team he played the better football. You yourself once mentioned how he doesn’t win finals.
So he now won and to be honest no one will remember anything else other than the Liverpool win.
I like the enthusiasm you bring to your writing , but feel like you lose credibility when you make it into a United v Liverpool thing.
Anyway keep up the good work ..
